The 4th International Space Summit (ISS) 2026, hosted by CONTEC, was held in Daejeon from June 16 to 18.
The International Space Summit (ISS) 2026 brought together representatives of leading space agencies, research institutions and high-tech companies from around the world to discuss the future development of the global space industry and international cooperation in this field.
The Luxembourg National Booth, set up by the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office (LTIO) Seoul, which showcased six leading Space companies’ innovative services, products and solutions, drew a lot of attention. The booth included : ClearSpace, Exobiosphere, Hydrosat, Mission Space, RSS-Hydro, and SES (see below to find a short description of each company).
Representatives from the Luxembourg space-focused private equity firm NewSpace Capital and from the Luxembourg law firm Arendt & Medernach also attended the ISS and were speakers in the “Space Investments” and “Space Law & Policy” sessions respectively.
Ambassador Jacques Flies delivered congratulatory remarks at the opening ceremony of the ISS, while Thierry Santer, Director of the LTIO Seoul, gave a presentation on Luxembourg’s space policy and strategy in the “Space Law & Policy” session.
A local media outlet conducted interviews with Exobiosphere and NewSpace Capital, while Korean broadcaster KBS recorded film footage for a documentary on K-Water, which included a joint meeting with RSS-Hydro, Hydrosat and Mission Space, as well as contributions from Ambassador Jacques Flies and LTIO Director Thierry Santer.
The Luxembourg companies that joined the national booth and/or attended the ISS had several meetings with existing and potential new clients and partners.
Leading up to the ISS, the LTIO organized a joint event with the Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA), during which NewSpace Capital, ClearSpace, Arendt & Medernach and the LTIO gave presentations on various aspects of the Luxembourg and global space industry.
Contec, the event’s organizer, who has established its European HQ in Luxembourg in 2019, has become a major space actor over the years, as demonstrated by its capacity to host such a major event and its opening of the Asia Space Park, Asia's largest private satellite ground station, in Jeju earlier this year.
