IBK and Luxembourg establish an international cooperation network to support SMEs' expansion into Europe

IBK기업은행, 룩셈부르크와 국제협력 네트워크 구축
지난 12월 12일, IBK기업은행이 룩셈부르크에 방문하여 국내 중소기업·스타트업의 현지 진출 지원을 위한 국제협력 네트워크를 구축했다. 룩셈부르크는 핀테크와 우주항공 산업을 미래 성장 동력으로 집중 육성하는 유럽 중심부에 위치한 글로벌 금융 허브이다.
김성태 IBK기업은행장은 먼저 질 로트(Gilles Roth) 룩셈부르크 재무장관 겸 룩셈부르크 하우스 오브 핀테크(LHoFT) 의장을 만나 금융·혁신 분야의 협력 방향을 논의하고 스타트업 지원에 관한 협력 방안을 폭넓게 교환했다.
또 중기대출 강점이 있는 국영은행 스푸르키스(Spuerkeess)와 '양국 중소기업 및 스타트업 지원을 위한 업무협약'을 체결했다. 양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 △양국 진출 기업의 금융지원 등을 위한 공동펀드 조성 및 금융지원 △국내 스타트업의 유럽진출 지원 △중소기업 금융 관련 연구 교류 △ESG 및 포용금융 분야 상호 협력 등을 추진한다.

On December 12, Mr. Seong-tae Kim, Chairman & CEO of Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK), met with local financial authorities and bank officials in Luxembourg and agreed to cooperate to help Korean and Luxembourg companies' expansion into both markets.
Chairman & CEO Mr. Kim first met with Mr. Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance of Luxembourg and chairman of the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), to discuss cooperation in the fields of fintech, innovation, and SME supports. Also broadly exchanged extensive ideas to create new opportunities for startups and scale-ups in both Korea and Luxembourg markets.
Also, Luxembourg’s government-owned savings bank Spuerkeess has signed a Luxembourg-Korea cross-border cooperation deal with IBK to pursue joint financing, investment and support for small businesses, including environmental, social and governance initiatives.
