A new direct air link brings Luxembourg and Abu Dhabi closer for business
Etihad Airways launches direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Luxembourg from 21 October 2026, providing a new connection between two internationally oriented business and investment centres.
The service is expected to operate four times per week between Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Luxembourg Findel Airport (LUX).
Direct air connectivity is a practical enabler of trade and investment. By removing the need for a connecting flight, the new route will facilitate business travel, investment missions, company visits and participation in major conferences and trade events. It will also make regular exchanges easier for executives, entrepreneurs, investors and institutional partners.
The connection comes at a time of growing dialogue between the Luxembourg and UAE business ecosystems. It offers further potential for collaboration in areas such as financial services and fintech, space, digital technologies, cybersecurity, clean energy, health technologies, logistics, tourism and culture.
For Gulf-based companies, Luxembourg offers a strategic base at the heart of the European Union and access to the wider European market. For Luxembourg companies, the United Arab Emirates are an important centre for investment, innovation and economic diversification, as well as a gateway to opportunities across the Gulf region.
The route will also connect Luxembourg to more than 100 destinations through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub, providing improved access to markets across Asia and beyond. At the same time, Luxembourg serves as a convenient gateway to major European capitals and destinations through its national airline, Luxair, which offers an extensive network across Europe. Together, these connections will further strengthen Luxembourg’s position as a bridge between the Gulf, Europe, North America and other international markets.
The Embassy of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in Abu Dhabi welcome this new service as a concrete opportunity to support closer commercial relations and new business projects between Luxembourg and the UAE.
