Luxembourg among the world’s happiest countries

Luxembourg has once again secured a spot in the top 10 of the World Happiness Report 2025, ranking as the 9th happiest country. Finland remains at the top.

As in previous years, Nordic countries dominate the rankings of the World Happiness Report 2025, with Finland, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden leading the way. Finland holds the top position for the eighth consecutive year. Luxembourg, though slipping one place from last year, remains firmly in the top tier of global happiness.

This year’s report, themed "Caring and Sharing," draws on a three-year average of residents’ self-assessments of their quality of life. Key factors include GDP per capita, life expectancy, having someone to count on, freedom, generosity and perceptions of corruption.

Luxembourg’s strong economy and robust social support network are key contributors to its high ranking. Residents also cite a strong sense of personal freedom and a high healthy life expectancy as major factors in their well-being.
