The Luxembourg Trade & Investment Office (LTIO) in Tel Aviv is the formal representative of the State of Luxembourg’s Directorate for Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, located in Israel. The LTIO promotes the economic development of Luxembourg as an innovative and international business destination of premier choice for companies and investors. It also facilitates the foreign expansion, growth, and export initiatives of Luxembourg-based businesses.

The LTIO in Tel Aviv offers free of charge personalized services to Israeli companies expanding their business to Luxembourg and entering the European market, and helps Luxembourgish companies' growth in Israel by providing advice and practical support, with a focus on innovation and technology.

Job Description

About the Position:

The Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office (LTIO) in Tel Aviv is expanding its team and seeking to recruit a long-term Junior Trade and Investment Advisor (m/f), who will be the main point of contact for Luxembourg in Israel for the sectors FinTech, Cyber/AI, and Space. The Junior Advisor will be responsible for creating awareness and advancing innovation cooperation between Luxembourg and Israel, managing and maintaining a pipeline of interested stakeholders looking to set up activities in Luxembourg, monitoring the progress of current investment projects based on sector focus, and enhancing Israeli participation in Luxembourgish programs. The role includes the promotion of bilateral economic relations between Luxembourg and Israel, as well as advancing Luxembourg's business advantages within the Israeli ecosystem (startups, venture capital firms, accelerators, incubators, etc.) by cultivating relationships with key Israeli stakeholders. You will support LTIO's Senior Advisor with promotion activities, marketing initiatives, internal organizational documentation, and the organization of webinars, visits, and delegations or missions, and work closely with colleagues in Luxembourg.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The precise range of duties will vary over time according to the needs of the LTIO, but will include the following: 

  • Focus Sectors: Point of contact for the sectors FinTech, Cyber/AI, and Space; maintain contact with local institutional and strategic partners to create awareness (attend conferences), and advance innovation cooperation between Luxembourg and Israel; identify market and tech trends in the ecosystem
  • Business Development: Support Israeli companies in their efforts to enter Luxembourg and the European market; identify needs, manage, and maintain a pipeline of potential leads; monitor and facilitate follow-up with stakeholders; provide professional customer service, and respond to queries
  • Marketing: Execute marketing initiatives including draft content for social media and general promotion activities (LinkedIn, LTIO Website, CTech articles), and enhance awareness (represent LTIO at conferences)
  • Reporting: Provide regular high-quality activity reports; synthesize sets of data from meetings and activities to integrate them into quarterly reports to Luxembourg
  • Financial Administration: Maintain project budget balance; monthly record of operational budget and expenditure (Excel); ensure accurate records and reporting
  • Project Management: Manage Luxembourgish programs to enhance Israeli participation; liaise with relevant strategic partners (to create awareness) and service providers (budget, procurement) as necessary to execute the project; support with administrative tasks, and the organization of meetings and activities (webinars, visits, roadshows, delegations or missions)

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must have a permanent legal right to reside and work in Israel - mandatory
  • Completed university degree in a relevant field
  • 1-3 years of professional work experience in a relevant role, such as business development, project management in a European environment
  • Native/Fluent level Hebrew and English (writing and communication) – mandatory
  • Project Management skills: work rigorous, structured with attention to detail, have high level of professionalism, with the ability to manage multiple tasks – mandatory
  • Good command of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote) and social media networks (LinkedIn) – mandatory
  • A proven ‘can do’ approach and committed to delivering results. Ability to prioritize own workload and meet deadlines, without compromising the quality of the work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, working both independently and with a small team, but also dealing effectively with people in external organizations
  • Passionate for innovation, emerging technology trends, and the Israeli hi-tech ecosystem
     

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the Israeli innovation ecosystem and economic developments - advantage
  • An extensive business network in both the private sector and public governmental organizations - advantage
  • Working knowledge of key sector(s) – advantage
  • Ability to work cross-culturally in a politically delicate environment is an asset
  • Previous work experience in diplomacy is desirable, but not essential
  • German or French language knowledge is a plus

 

What we offer: 

  • Office: based in Tel Aviv; hybrid work mode is possible (min. 4 days in office)
  • Working Days: Sundays to Thursdays, 40 hours per week, with standard office hours from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm (with some flexibility)
  • Annual Leave Allowance: 22 leave days per annum plus public holidays
  • Salary: will be commensurate with qualifications and experience (starting NIS 14,000), plus transport allowance and social benefits as required by local labor law
  • Travel: domestic and international travel (on occasion)
  • Start Date: mid-July 2025

This position is a full-time employment, on a fixed-term contract (according to local labor law), subject to a 3-month probation period.
