Luxembourg is taking a new step in its economic diversification strategy with the launch of the Luxembourg Future Fund 3 (LFF 3). The initiative, first introduced in 2015 and now in its third generation, aims to strengthen the country's innovation ecosystem by channeling capital toward high-growth sectors and encouraging investment funds to anchor their teams in the Grand Duchy.
The Luxembourg Future Fund 3 (LFF 3) was jointly launched by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of the Economy, the Société Nationale de Crédit et d’Investissement (SNCI) and the European Investment Fund (EIF). The initiative was presented by Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance; Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism; Robert de Groot, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank; and Merete Clausen, Deputy Chief Executive of the EIF.
The programme will primarily support investment funds established in Luxembourg whose investment teams are already fully or partially based in the country or commit to establishing a local presence. LFF 3 will target specialised and multisector funds focusing on high-growth sectors, including cybertech, deep tech, fintech, health tech, proptech, space tech, green and clean technologies, and transportation.
“The future belongs to those who dare to invest in it. With LFF 3, we are giving innovators, entrepreneurs and investors the means to turn ambition into reality and transform ideas into sustainable growth. In doing so, we are strengthening the foundations of a more diversified, competitive and resilient Luxembourg economy. LFF 3 is a strong investment in Luxembourg’s future and in the generations that will shape it,” said Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance.
The joint involvement of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of the Economy, the SNCI and the EIF reflects Luxembourg’s broader commitment to strengthening its financing ecosystem and adapting its investment instruments to the needs of innovative businesses.
