Luxembourg space campus brings testing hub to life

Construction begins on Luxembourg's NEOS Space Campus, a 17,000 m² hub combining workspace for 900 people with advanced satellite testing facilities.

The project has now moved from planning to implementation under a new identity: the NEOS Space Campus. The campus is designed as a hub for Luxembourg's space ecosystem on a single site. It will also provide infrastructure for the development, integration and testing of space technologies.

Bringing the space ecosystem together

At the heart of the campus is Nova, a 10,000 m² building that will accommodate up to 900 people. It will host the headquarters of the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), startup facilities operated by Technoport, office space for companies and a range of shared facilities.

The aim is not only to provide workspace. Businesses, researchers and public-sector stakeholders will share meeting rooms, conference facilities and collaborative spaces designed to encourage exchange across the space sector.

Advanced facilities for testing space technologies

Another key element of the project is a new national testing centre located next to the Nova building. Covering more than 7,000 m², it will enable satellites and space equipment to be tested locally under demanding environmental conditions.

The facility will include thermal vacuum chambers, reverberant acoustic chambers, radiofrequency testing capabilities and cleanrooms that meet international standards.

While developed for the space sector, parts of the infrastructure will also be available to companies operating in sectors such as aerospace, automotive and defence.

This project is a strategic investment by the government to strengthen Luxembourg's innovation, research and production capabilities in high-value technologies. It is also expected to support the growth of companies already established in the country while helping attract new international players.

The wider NEOS Space Campus initiative spans two complementary locations. Belval focuses on research, innovation and education. Kockelscheuer is dedicated to industrial, commercial and testing activities.
