A Proud Moment for Luxembourg’s Space Sector
Luxembourg’s space leadership has been recognized on the global stage as Adel Al‑Saleh, Chief Executive Officer of SES, has been named 2025 Satellite Executive of the Year by Via Satellite, one of the most influential publications in the global satellite and space industry.
SES CEO Adel Al-Saleh was recognized for moving decisively to acquire Intelsat and to chart a path forward for the combined company. That path is underpinned by SES’s next-generation meoSphere network, the O3b mPOWER rollout, and key partnerships across the space ecosystem.
“Adel Al-Saleh brought a fresh perspective to satellite operator SES, and knew the company had to combine with Intelsat to thrive in the new era. But more than just carrying out a demanding acquisition, Al-Saleh is recognized for Satellite Executive of the Year for his vision for the future for SES and embracing innovative partnerships with companies like K2 Space,” said Rachel Jewett, Senior Managing Editor, Via Satellite.
The award was presented during the Via Satellite Awards Luncheon at SATShow Week in Washington, D.C., acknowledging exceptional executive leadership and long‑term impact on the satellite communications ecosystem.
“Our ambition as a company is to transform from a satellite operator to a solutions company, a space solutions company,” said Adel Al-Saleh after accepting the award. “What I’m grateful for is the partnerships and the ecosystem around our industry. That’s what makes transformation doable.”
