Space resources startup support: Applications now open

Applications are open for ESRIC’s startup programme, helping space resources ventures refine their business plans, attract customers and secure early investment.

13/01/2026

In 2022, the Luxembourg-based European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC) launched the world's first incubation programme fully dedicated to space resources utilisation. It helps early-stage ventures validate their technology, build solid business cases and connect with customers along the emerging in-situ resource utilisation (ISRU) value chain – from Earth to orbit and onwards to the Moon.

The sixth call for applications is open until 31 January 2026.

Funding, incubation, coaching

The ESRIC Startup Support Programme targets deeptech and spacetech innovators designing new technologies for space resources applications and looking to boost their technology and commercial maturity. The aim is to support the development of solutions that will underpin a sustainable in-space economy while creating tangible terrestrial benefits in sectors such as mining, manufacturing, energy, agriculture and more. Selected startups will benefit from the following:

  • Non-dilutive funding of up to €200,000
  • A dedicated incubation programme in Luxembourg
  • Tailored support to advance technology and commercial readiness levels
  • Coaching and mentoring by experts from ESRIC, the European Space Agency (ESA) and an international network of industry and research partners

Participants can also access technical laboratories at ESRIC, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and ESA. Additionally, Technoport – Luxembourg's technology business incubator – provides expert support in business innovation.

Apply until 31 January 2026

Eligible applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Be a small or medium-sized enterprise
  • Be incorporated within the past 5 years
