Luxembourg launches new tools to attract global professionals

A new digital portal and in-person support service aim to streamline recruitment and relocation to Luxembourg for international professionals.

On 28 January 2026, Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, and Marc Spautz, Minister of Labour, presented the new Work in Luxembourg web portal and the Talent Desk, two key tools designed to help international professionals find jobs in Luxembourg and navigate the process of relocating to Luxembourg. These initiatives, developed in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts, ADEM – the public employment service in Luxembourg – and Luxinnovation, are part of the government's strategy to attract, retain and develop the skills essential to the competitiveness and innovation of the Luxembourg economy.

A highly international job market

The Luxembourg labour market is characterised by a strong international dimension: nearly three-quarters of those working in the country are not Luxembourg nationals, but are either foreign residents or cross-border workers. For those considering working in Luxembourg as a foreigner, this international character creates a welcoming environment and diverse career opportunities.

Attracting, developing, and retaining talent is a priority of the coalition agreement, as it is essential for maintaining the competitiveness of our economy, preserving our openness and fostering innovation.
Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism

At the same time, the job market is undergoing rapid and profound changes, particularly due to the digital transition, the emergence of new professional profiles and the ageing of the workforce. Despite a recent rise in unemployment, many sectors (IT, finance, healthcare, social work, education and technology) are struggling to recruit qualified candidates.

“Attracting, developing, and retaining talent is a priority of the coalition agreement, as it is essential for maintaining the competitiveness of our economy, preserving our openness and fostering innovation,” stated Minister Delles. “With the new portal and Talent Desk, we are translating this commitment into concrete, visible and accessible tools that allow us to promote Luxembourg with a unified voice internationally and simplify the process of welcoming talent and businesses.”

“Work in Luxembourg”: A brand for attracting skilled professionals

The “Work in Luxembourg” brand has been created to promote Luxembourg as an attractive workplace internationally. Under the banner “Your future starts here,” it aims to position Luxembourg as an international benchmark for professionals wishing to settle, work and build a sustainable life there. It highlights the country’s strengths: safety, multiculturalism, a dynamic economy, career opportunities, international education, and quality of life. It guarantees consistent and coordinated communication with both professionals and businesses.

To remain competitive and attractive internationally, we must continue to attract skilled talent and support our businesses in the face of rapid changes in the labour market.
Marc Spautz, Minister of Labour

“To remain competitive and attractive internationally, we must continue to attract skilled talent and support our businesses in the face of rapid changes in the labour market,” commented Minister Spautz. “The new Work in Luxembourg portal is an important tool for connecting these talented individuals with the opportunities offered by our companies.”

A digital single point of entry

Developed by Luxinnovation at the request of the Ministry of the Economy, the Work in Luxembourg portal aims to become the single point of entry to the Grand Duchy for international professionals looking to relocate to Luxembourg, as well as for companies seeking global talent.

The portal is structured around three main sections:

  • Work here, dedicated to working conditions, careers and key sectors of the economy
  • Live here, focusing on life in Luxembourg, family, education, health and leisure
  • Get started, which provides practical information for working in Luxembourg as a foreigner, including immigration, job search and settling in

A Relocation Guide is also available for international professionals, while Luxembourg companies can find an Employer Toolkit, which offers a wealth of practical information to support their international recruitment efforts.

The portal is directly linked to ADEM's international recruitment platform, which highlights job offers in sectors facing significant skills shortages. This allows international professionals whose skills match these professions to create their online profiles.

Talent Desk: Tailored support for international professionals

Complementary to the portal and its chatbot, the physical Luxembourg Talent Desk, located near the House of Entrepreneurship, aims to inform, guide and support talented individuals in their relocation and integration in Luxembourg, directing them where necessary to the relevant institutions. It will also support companies by enabling them to focus on their international recruitment activities, while leveraging shared tools and services to promote Luxembourg as a professional destination.

The Talent Desk is managed by the Chamber of Commerce, in close collaboration with the Ministry of the Economy and the Chamber of Skilled Crafts, and operates in synergy with numerous institutional partners, including the Chamber of Employees. Among its initial projects is the implementation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Family Affairs and the House of Training, of a Spouse Programme to facilitate the professional and social integration of the spouses of international professionals, thereby promoting their long-term settlement in Luxembourg.

While the Greater Region remains a key foundation, the realities of today's labour market require Luxembourg to structurally rely on international professionals, both European and from third countries, to sustainably support its growth. To prepare for the future, it is essential to support companies in their recruitment efforts for international profiles. Whether you're exploring Luxembourg jobs for international professionals or preparing to relocate to Luxembourg, the portal and Talent Desk offer a streamlined starting point.
